Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a National Level Entrance Test for admitting
candidates into M. Tech./M.E./PhD
Programmes in IITs, IISERs, IISc and other known Institutes of India.
GATE 2018 Exam
GATE 2018 is conducted for
admissions to Postgraduate Programmes (Master's & Doctoral) with MHRD and
other Govt. Scholarships/Assistantships in
Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Science. GATE 2018 score will be valid for three years from the date of announcement of results.
How to apply for GATE 2018 Exam
The candidates can apply online for GATE 2018 which
will be live from 1st September 2017 and the exam will be held on 03rd-04th & 10th -11th February 2018(Saturdays & Sundays) in online mode. The exam is organized by Indian
Institute of Technology Guwahati - IIT . Interested candidates are
first requested to go through the eligibility criteria of GATE and then fill
the online application form.
Steps for GATE 2018 Registration Process
- The candidates who wish to apply for GATE 2018 are requested toe read the application form of GATE 2018 at the GATE official website http://www.gate.iitg.ac.in/
- Enter the coorect details of your name, date of birth, email ID and Mobile Number in the GATE 2018 registration form.
- Upload photograph, signature and other documents necessary.
- Pay the Application Fee online

GATE 2018 Eligibility Criteria
The following candidates are
eligible to appear in GATE 2018:
- Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/Technology (4 years after 10+2 or 3 years after B.Sc./Diploma in Engineering/Technology) and those who are in the final year of such programs
- Bachelor’s degree holders in Architecture (Five years course) and those who are in the final year of such programs
- Bachelor’s degree holders of Four-year program in Science (B.S.) and those who are in the final year of such programs
- Master’s degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final year of such programs
- Holders of Four-year Integrated Master’s degree (Post B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology and those who are in the second or higher year of such programs
- Holders of Five-year Integrated Master’s degree or Dual Degree in Engineering/Technology and those who are in the fourth or higher year of such programs
- Holders of Five-year integrated M.Sc. or Five-year integrated B.Sc. /M.Sc. degree and those who are in the final year of such programmes
- Candidates with qualifications obtained through exams conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE/MHRD as equivalent to BE/B. Tech; those who have completed Section A of AMIE or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible
